Architect: Aaron McDonald Architect
This project combined two separate two-bedroom apartments to create an expansive one bedroom apartment on the upper east side. The major challenge with this project were the already existing low ceilings. Some of the highlighted features of the newly combined 2,500 sq. ft. apartment are: A large master bath suite with Jacuzzi tub, separate glass enclosed shower and sauna; Glass-walled study off of the long hallway, creating a feeling of roominess to offset the low ceilings; Level 5 skimcoated walls, feature lighting and artesian plaster lining the hallways to emphasize the owner’s art collection, which hangs from a hanging art detail Certified installed; built-in millwork in the Living Room, Dining Room and Study to make efficient use of the limited Manhattan real estate.
